Not all viruses are bad. Researchers at University of Florida discovered a rabbit virus able to kill some cancer cells and improve bone marrow transplants. The myxoma virus which is found in rabbits can combat the complications caused by bone marrow transplant. The virus is also effective in destroying blood cancers, such as leukemia and multiple myeloma, without affecting normal stem cells. The study was published in April 22 issue of the journal Blood.
